I am sitting here tonight and found where i used to blog a couple of years ago. Part of me wanted to resurrect that blog and keep typing there, but I felt led to just start from scratch. Many things have changed in my life in the last couple of years from when i would write short Christian blogs.
I am sitting here tonight and found where i used to blog a couple of years ago. Part of me wanted to resurrect that blog and keep typing there, but I felt led to just start from scratch. Many things have changed in my life in the last couple of years from when i would write short Christian blogs.
1. I stepped out in faith to move to Maryland. It has been a rocky ride since i got here. I has blessing after blessing poured out on me, but I got very prideful, and took God for granted. Little by little, He started stripping things away. He allowed me to lose my job that He gave me, only to take a second job away a few months later. God did this to remind me that I need to trust HIM completely financially.
2. Within a week of moving, God opened the door with my wife. She had been fighting Him, and I had moved on to another person, but God hounded Charlotte until she finally called me to invite me over for food, and fireworks on the fourth of July. Needless to say there were fireworks, not outside though. That night the door opened and the other person went the way of the dinosaur. That dinosaur would reek its ugly head to try to destroy what God was doing with Charlotte and me a couple of times, but by God's grace what He joins together, no one can seperate.
3. The church I thought God was calling me out here to serve at turned out to not be what it claimed to be. It was a 'holy roller' and there was a lack of foundation. the pastor was more concerned about gossip, and his marriage councelling would of made a nun blush deep red. We moved to a church where Charlotte knew the pastor. The church was a dying church, and there was not enough support to revive it, so after a few months we went to my friend's church on Sunday mornings. We went there 6 months, but when the pastors wife is fightingt with the worship leader in front of the church, that's not a good sign of the health of the church. We left that church, and now go to Cumberland Christian Fellowship, a church plant of Calvary Chapel, Flordia. Been there 6 months (Sunday services), and have been growing closer to God!
4. Moving to Maryland, I tried to find places to serve the church body. Unfourantely in this area, there is not a lot of opportunity to serve, unless you know someone. People here are resistant to change, and not used to anything new.
