 Men are designed to work and provide

Genesis 3:17-19
17 Then to Adam He (God) said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.

When God gave Adam his punishment for his disobedience, it was not meant to be easy.  God cursed the ground, so Adam would have to work hard to provide for his family.  That was a hard punishment, because Adam and Eve was used to living in the Garden of Eden, where all their needs were met without them having to meet them.  God layed out that His will for man was to work and provide until they died.  No longer would God supply the need of food completely, we had a part to play in receiving our food.

2 Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

 I see many adults,just about all under the age 40,(most ones I know over 40 are hard working and take care of their responsibilities, and they were raised with more fear of God than those who are younger) Many younger people disregard their responsibilities as adults, husbands/wives, and/or parents.  Many younger ones are always playing video/computer games, living for themselves,  They only care about themselves, and do not care about anything else than what pleases themselves. Too bad there are many today that do not work, and expect the Government to give them a handout.  Unfortunately , this sets a mindset in their children it is OK to be lazy, and find a reason to collect government benefits and not work.

 I have personally seen teenagers who 'expect a handout' in all aspects of life, and would rather not work in order to receive what they feel 'entitled' to.  The saddest thing is that these same people can not hold a job, because they expect the job to allow then to sit around and do nothing and collect their check, just like the welfare system.  it is called WORK because that is what you are supposed to be doing.  I do realize that some jobs allow breaks and time of slowness, where there is not much going on, but when there is a job to be done, they expect the person to be there on time, and do their job.  I have seen many fired because they just stopped showing up, or never showed up on time, or they do not believe the place of employment's rules do not apply to them.

In Conclusion,the verses in this note are a good solution for those who sit all day at home and do not work, and collect a check from the government (welfare, unemployment, any government aid at all). For those who work, and need assistance still, may God bless you for your labors and provide a way to be able to provide completely (even if God uses government programs to help provide). Where I live I see so many who just sit and collect, and live better than those who work hard for what they have. I am tired of people who do not want to live the way Jesus taught us to live. No wonder why things are so bad here in America.  This generation has been conditioned into a 'serve me and my needs FIRST' generation, instead of one of one that considers others first, and is not afraid to lay down their lives.

 In Christ,

Kevin

Disclaimer:  I say These things as a general statement.  If you are offended by what I post, seek God and ask Him why it is offensive.   I never said it is wrong to accept help when it is needed to make ends meet, as long as you are doing your part.
